February 2026

February came and went in the blink of an eye!

It started out with the Northwoods team and Steve Shaffer’s 50th reunion trip. I loved getting to see and spend time with some sweet friends, Kamanda, Lydia, Lois, and Lindsey. It was great to have them here, catch up, and just hang out! I even got to go out with Northwoods one day when they did a food distribution in El Cacheo. I had never been there so it was cool to see the ministry that Mennonite Central does up there and to work alongside Northwoods. My friend, Brenda, from church and I shared the gospel with the kids and sang with them as their parents went and got their food.

Later, my team from Hickory was here serving in ENT surgery and barrio clinics. It was so good to have people from home and people that I began serving at SRI with! I was able to go out to the barrio one day with them and just catch up with all of them!

I went to visit my friend Luisa who is pregnant with her 4th baby! We recreated some pictures from the last time she was pregnant which was fun. It is so cool to have been able to see her kids and family grow over the last 6 years that I’ve been coming on trips!

Bianca turned 30 this month and we went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants here in San Juan to celebrate!

I celebrated Dominican independence day with some friends! It was very chill. We just cooked, ate, sang, and danced! But I had a lot of fun!

There have been a lot of sweet moments this month, but I also must admit that there has just been a constant sense of overwhelm I can’t seem to break no matter how hard I try. There have been a lot of emotions, too. I’m currently praying and trying to seek the Lord’s will on my time here at Solid Rock. In the next two months, I will have to decide whether I’m recommitting for another year or whether my time will come to an end come September. I honestly have no idea what I will decide. Prayers for that decision and this constant sense of overwhelm would be greatly appreciated.

Prayer requests:

  • Upcoming decision
  • Healing from burnout
  • Upcoming retreat in Italy
  • Physical and spiritual rest
